OVERVIEW


Peterborough Rowing Club traditionally competes at a series of spring, summer and fall Ontario regattas. The entry fees for these events are included in the respective club fees. Athletes may compete in other regattas representing the PRC by bearing the full cost of entries and boat transportation.

South Niagara Invitational (Competitive Experienced Juniors only) Saturday May 17th and Sunday May 18th- Welland ON, South Course.

Canadian Secondary School Regatta Association CSSRA (Competitive Experienced Juniors only) May 30th - June 1st- St. Catharines, ON - Martindale Waterways.

Tony Biernacki Regatta (Masters only) Saturday, June 14th - Welland ON - North Course.

Canada Day Regatta (everyone) Monday July 1st, Toronto, ON - Allan A. Lamport Regatta Course, Toronto Island.

Central Ontario Regatta Association (CORA) (Jr, U23 and Club rowers) J TBA - St. Catharines, ON - Martindale Waterways.

Ontario Masters Championships (Masters only) Sunday July 13th– Welland, short course.

Row Ontario Championships (Jr, U23 and Club rowers) July 19 & 20-Welland ON - South course.

The 140th Royal Canadian Henley Masters Regatta (Masters only) Sunday August 3rd- St. Catharines, ON - Martindale Waterways.

The 140th Royal Canadian Henley Regatta (Jr, U23 and Club rowers by coach invite) August 5th to 10th - St. Catharines, ON - Martindale Waterways.

Head of the Rideau (everyone) Sunday September 28th – Ottawa, Rideau Canal

Head of the Trent (everyone) October 4th & 5th - Peterborough, home course


Regatta expectations and requirements

  • We are ONE club - regardless of the level of ability, age, gender, or experience - we are PRC rowers and coaches. Please connect and work together on and off the water!

    · To race in any regatta, entries, boats, and assigned rowers must be confirmed by participants and approved by the respective Club Coordinator in a timely manner. All entries are completed by the PRC Registrar.

    · All rowers must have a PRC uniform

    · All rowers are responsible for transportation to and from regattas as well as their own accommodations.

    · Junior rowers: Junior Coaches will inform you and your parents of the races in which you’re entered. The PRC Junior Parent Coordinator can upon request book accommodations and help coordinate travel carpools - but as athletes YOU are responsible for staying on top of communication and plans for regattas.

    · ALL ATHLETES & COACHES are expected to be present to load and unload, rigg and de-rigging boats and equipment.

    · When at regattas, you are a representative of the Peterborough Rowing Club and are expected to be supportive and respectful of all rowers, coaches, and clubs.
